Ski regions Wald im Pinzgau
Wald im Pinzgau is located between 3 ski areas, namely the extensive ski area of the Zillertal Arena, the Ski-Arena Wildkogel ski area and the ski area Kitzbühler Alps. The resorts can be easily reached by car or with the free ski bus.

The Ski-Arena Wildkogel
The ski area of the Wildkogel Arena in Neukirchen am Großvenediger can be reached by car in a mere 5 to 10 minutes.
The Wildkogel Ski Arena (820 – 2,235 m) is a pleasant family ski region with 16 modern ski lifts, 61 km of slopes and many beautiful descents, and is part of the Zillertal Arena ski region. The area is not connected to the extensive Zillertal Arena ski region.

The Zillertal Arena
The ski area of the Zillertal Arena (1470 -2302 m) can be reached via the Gerlos pass travelling in the direction of Krimml/Hochkrimml in around 15/20 minutes by car. From Hochkrimml, the Gerlosplatte, you have access to the largest ski region in the Zillertal Arena which includes 51 modern ski lifts, 143 km of slopes of which 8% black, 62% red and 30% blue. The 320 hectares of snow slopes of the Zillertal Arena guarantee snow during the whole season.

The ski area Kitzbühler Alps
The ski area Kitzbühler Alps comprises Alpenbach, Kitzbühel, Saalbach Hinterglemm-Leogang, Schneewinkel, SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental, Hochtal Wildschönau and Zell am See - Kaprun. It is an extremely modernised ski area with over 1000 km of pistes. The “Hahnenkamm” is a very well-known slope; it is a very steep slope for advanced skiers.

The Zillertal Arena Ski pass
The Zillertal Arena Ski pass and the Zillertaler Super ski pass can be used both in the Zillertal Arena as well as in the Ski Arena Wildkogel in Neukirchen am Großvenediger. With a valid ski pass you can make use of the ski bus that runs between Neukirchen, Wald, Krimml and Königsleiten free of charge.

The ski school

The sports shop of Sports & More Unterwurzacher is located in the centre of Wald Im Pinzgau, at walking distance from the Alpin Chalets/Maisonnettes Schöneben. This shop also accommodates the ski school. The ski school offers a range of ski- and snowboard lessons
The professionally trained ski instructors ensure lots of ski fun and optimal success for young and old. This ski school forms part of the Königsleiten ski school and is, therefore, oriented towards Königsleiten.

Ski rentals
ChaletsPlus works with Sport 2000 for the purpose of reserving your ski equipment on-line. This ensures that you do not spend unnecessary time during your holiday making arrangements and that you are eligible for an attractive discount! How does it work? Go to the homepage of Chalets Plus under Extra Service and select Skirental with discount.

Cross-country skiing
Wald im Pinzgau has over 7 km of pistes. There is also a connection to the 200-kilometre long Pinzgau Piste, which runs from Krimml to Zell am See.

Snowboarders
The Zillertal Arena offers more than enough possibilities for free-stylers. The "Hot-Zone Snowpark" in Gerlos is at a height of 2,020 metres and covers an area of 30,000 m². Beginners as well as more advanced snowboarders can do their own thing here. There is also a small yet lovely Snow park on the Gerlosplatte in Hochkrimml. Ideal for beginners, but also for children who want to improve their skills.

Luge tobogganing
The Zillertal Arena offers ample opportunities to those who enjoy luge tobogganing. The small toboggan run at Gasthof Finkenhof is partially lit in the evenings and - because of the minor difference in height - particularly suitable for children. The longest illuminated toboggan run in the world is located in Bramberg am Wildkogel, at a distance of approx. 10 km from Wald im Pinzgau

Pinzgauer Lokalbahn
The Pinzgauer Lokalbahn (local railway track through Pinzgau) in the Salzach valley connects Zell am See and (Vorder)Krimml. For a range of fun winter excursions, why not hop aboard the local train? Ski enthusiasts can take the train all the way to the Hollersbach Panorama Bahn cable car. This lift then takes you to the Kitzbüheler Alps ski area for an entirely different experience than the ski shuttle! The nearest station can be found under ‘location’ for the holiday home(s) on the website. More information on the Pinzgauer Lokalbahn and prices.
