On the edge of the centre of the Austrian village of Sankt Margarethen im Lungau are the Residenz Monica apartments. On the ground floor you will find apartment Top 2, which accommodates 4 guests (6 guests from October 2026 onwards). The sunny terrace offers an unobstructed view over the Katschberg alpine meadows. The apartment was fully renovated in October 2025, except for the bathroom. In the living room, you can relax in the comfortable seating area by the cosy wood-burning stove, enjoy long meals at the dining table, and the kitchen is fully equipped with all modern conveniences. Both bedrooms feature a double bed, and there is a bathroom with a shower, washbasin and toilet. From June 2026, two bunk beds will be added to one of the bedrooms. One car can be parked at the apartment complex, and within walking distance you’ll find a restaurant where you can enjoy delicious Austrian cuisine.
In winter, this apartment is an ideal base of operations for a holiday to remember. You're directly on the ski slope here and within walking distance of the ski gondola for the family-friendly ski region of Katschberg (Katschi). The ski school and sports shop are directly at the gondola, while the village serves as the start for several cross-country trails. On the Katschberg is a toboggan run stretching almost two kilometres that makes an exciting alternative to skiing or snowboarding. What's more, the nearby village of Mauterndorf is crying out for a day trip with its historic architecture and castle.
In summer, it’s wonderful to relax on the apartment’s sunny terrace. Immerse yourself in a good book on the comfortable sun loungers, or enjoy a delicious meal outdoors while taking in the stunning surroundings. There is plenty to discover in the Lungau holiday region. With the “LungauCard”, which is included with your stay, you can benefit from great discounts and enjoy many free activities in the area. You can swim for free in the pools of the surrounding villages, or take one of the gondola lifts up the mountain at no cost and enjoy beautiful hikes from there. The Lungau region also offers many sights to explore, such as the Taurachbahn, the highest narrow-gauge railway in Austria.
