Neukirchen am Großvenediger is part of the Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region, an area of sporting interest with a uniquely rich composition of mountain ranges. Here at the Tauern Window, a wide variety of rock layers lie open and reveal the geological history of the region, which is dozens of millions of years old. Learn more about the unique nature and the rich flora and fauna at the visitor centre, located just around the corner. Neukirchen is known for its gentle, climate-friendly tourism and is rightfully proud of the "Alpine Pearls" award.

In neighbouring Bramberg am Wildkogel, you can admire the mining tradition and impressive mineral collections. If you feel like a winter hike, the Salzach valley, the Großvenediger, the Smaragdweg and the Untersulzbach waterfall are all tempting options. Culture is not neglected either.
At the Tauriska-Kammerlanderstall or in the Cinétheatro Neukirchen, run by an artist initiative for 30 years, you will be offered a programme with plenty of variety, from cabaret to concerts and readings. About the ski resorts

Neukirchen lies at the foot of the Wildkogel Arena ski area and is close to the extensive ski areas of the Zillertal Arena and the Kitzbühel Alps. These areas are easy to reach by car or free ski bus. The ski area of the Zillertal Arena (1470 - 2302 metres) can be reached via the Gerlos Pass in the direction of Krimml/Hochkrimml in about 10 minutes by car. The Kitzbüheler Alpen-Gondel, the so-called Kitzbüheler Alpen-Panoramabahn in Hollersbach, can also be reached from Neukirchen within 10 minutes by car.

The Wildkogel Arena

The Wildkogel Arena is a varied family ski area with 16 modern ski lifts and a total of 75km of slopes. The slopes are divided into 46% blue slopes, 41% red slopes and 13% black slopes. Because the slopes are wide, children and beginners also have a lot of fun. The Wildkogel Arena has beautiful children's areas and many care facilities. Snowboarders can let off steam in a fun park with a half-pipe. Due to its special location in a depression with mostly northern slopes, the Wildkogel Arena's snow reliability and snow quality are remarkably good.

The ski area Kitzbüheler Alpen

The ski area Kitzbüheler Alpen is a very modern ski area with more than 100km of slopes. One of the most famous slopes in this area is the 'Hahnenkamm', a very steep slope for advanced skiers. The Panoramabahn Kitzbüheler Alpen in Mittersill/ Hollersbach can be reached from Neukirchen in 10 minutes by car.

The Zillertal Arena

The Zillertal Arena is very snow-sure, and thanks to its southern location (on the Gerlos Pass) you can enjoy wonderful hours of sunshine. Until the end of April, you can still ski in the sun! The area has 52 modern ski lifts and 143km long slopes, of which 8% are black, 62% red and 30% blue. The 320 hectares of snow-covered slopes are guaranteed to snow throughout the entire season. In addition to skiing, the 200km long network of cross-country trails offers excellent cross-country skiing opportunities. You can reach the Zillertal Arena (1470 - 2302m) via the Gerlos Pass in the direction of Krimml/Hochkrimml in about 10 minutes by car.
