In Neukirchen am Großvenediger
The charming village of Neukirchen has a wide range of facilities and amenities, including three sports shops, two ski schools, a supermarket and several good restaurants and pizzerias. The excellent ski and snowboard teachers at the Neukirchen ski school teach you all the latest techniques and styles. Kids will find plenty to discover and experience at the Kogel Mogel Children's World. After an active day on your skis, you can visit one of the various ‘schirmbars’ or ski huts for après-ski activities.

Ski resorts
Neukirchen is situated at the foot of the Wildkogel Arena ski area and between the expansive Zillertal Arena ski resort and Kitzbüheler Alps. Both resorts can be easily reached by car or the free ski shuttle. The Zillertal Arena ski area (1,470 – 2,302 m) can be reached via the Gerlos Pass. To reach this area, drive towards Krimml/Hochkrimml for around 20 to 25 minutes. From Hochkrimml - the Gerlosplatte - you enter the vast Zillertal Arena. The Kitzbüheler Alps Panorama Bahn gondola in Hollersbach is only a 10-minute drive from Neukirchen.

The Wildkogel Arena
The Wildkogel Arena is an exciting family ski resort with 16 modern lifts, 61 km of slopes with lots of great runs and guaranteed skiing fun well into spring thanks to snow canons. The wide slopes make the resort perfect for children and beginning skiers. The Wildkogel Arena has wonderful pre-schooler ski areas and lots of facilities for children. Snowboarders will find plenty of challenges at the Fun Park and Half Pipe. The unique basin location, with primarily north-facing slopes, guarantees plenty of snow and high snow quality in the Wildkogel Arena. Neukirchen is located in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park. It is also a 10-minute car drive from the Panorama Bahn Kitzbüheler Alps in Hollersbach. This gondola from Hollersbach takes you directly to the Pass Turn/Kitzbuhel ski resort.

Kitzbüheler Alps ski area
The Kitzbüheler Alps ski area comprises Alpenbach, Kitzbuhel, Saalbach Hinterglemm-Leogang, Schneewinkel, SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental, Hochtal Wildschönau and Zell am See - Kaprun. It is a very modern ski region with 1,000 km of slopes. One of the most well-known runs in the area is the ‘Hahnenkamm’, a very steep slope for advanced skiers.

Zillertal Arena    
The Zillertal Arena is assured of snow and its south-facing slopes (on the Gerlos Pass) guarantee hours of sun.
You can ski here to your heart’s content until late April! The area has more than 51 modern ski lifts, 143 km of slopes of which 8% black, 62% red and 30%  blue. The 320 ha of snow slopes guarantee snow all season long. In addition to skiing, the area also has 200 km of cross-country trails. The Zillertal Arena ski area (1,470 – 2,302 m) can be reached via the Gerlos Pass. To reach this area, drive towards Krimml/Hochkrimml for around 20 to 25 minutes.

Zillertal Arena Ski Pass
The Zillertal Arena Ski Pass and Zillertaler Super Ski Pass can be used in both the Zillertal Arena and Wildkogel Arena in Neukirchen am Großvenediger. A valid ski pass also allows you to use the ski shuttle that runs between Neukirchen, Bramberg am Wildkogel, Wald, Krimml and Königsleiten free of charge.

Wildkogel Arena Ski Pass             
The Wildkogel Arena Ski Pass is used in the Wildkogel Arena. This ski pass ensures that you can use all lifts in the Wildkogel Arena. You can also use it on the ski shuttle that runs from various bus stations in Neukirchen and Bramberg to the Ski Arena Wildkogel valley station. There is also a free bus connection to Königsleiten.

A favourite of kids and adults alike is the 14 km-long illuminated toboggan run from Wildkogel to Bramberg. The tobogganing track that starts from the Wildkogel is open daily until 10 p.m. and is 14 km long. A ride on the Wildkogel gondola takes you to an altitude of approx. 2,150 meters. This is followed by a 15-minute walk, after which you can enjoy 45 minutes of descending fun that ends in Bramberg am Wildkogel. The toboggan run can be reached directly from Bramberg with the Smaragdbahn and is illuminated daily until 10 pm. The ski shuttle takes you back to the starting point in Neukirchen am Großvenediger. Cross-country skiing
Bramberg and Neukirchen have over 45 km of perfectly prepared trails with impressive views of the Großvenediger. The trails also connect to the 200 km-long Pinzgauer trail that runs from Krimml to Zell am See.

Pinzgauer Lokalbahn
The Pinzgauer Lokalbahn (local railway track through Pinzgau) connects Zell am See and (Vorder)Krimml. For a range of fun winter excursions, why not hop aboard the local train? Ski enthusiasts can take the train all the way to the Hollersbach Panorama Bahn cable car. This lift then takes you to the Kitzbüheler Alps ski area and is an entirely different experience than the ski shuttle!
