Introduction

Hochkrimml (1700 m) is located on the Gerlos Pass, on the border of the Austrian states of Salzburg and Tyrol (Zillertal). The winter sports area Hochkrimml-Gerlosplatte consists of three communities, Filzsteinalm, Duxeralm and Silberleiten, and belongs to the municipality of Krimml. Hochkrimml can be easily accessed by car and ski bus. The skiing and cross-country slopes start and end at all the communities. Hochkrimml is known for its endless skislopes. Hochkrimml (Gerlosplatte), the start of a great ski experience in the Zillertal Arena!

In Hochkrimml (Filzsteinalm, Duxeralm and Silberleiten)
The winter sports area Hochkrimml (Gerlosplatte) is located at an altitude of approx. 1700 m and consists of three communities, Filzsteinalpe, Duxeralm and Silberleiten, which make up part of the municipality of Krimml. It is an ideal holiday destination with lots of snow and sun from the beginning of December through most of April. Hochkrimml, the start of a superb skiing-experience in the ski-world of the Zillertal Arena!

Hochkrimml
Hochkrimml is a small peaceful mountain village that consists of a number of (new) chalets, a restaurant, a pizzeria, a shop that rents out skis and a few modern ski lifts. Hochkrimml is easy to reach by car or ski-bus. Hochkrimml offers a magnificent view in the direction of Königsleiten. You can ski right up to your front door and the cross-country ski route is right at hand. From Hochkrimml, you can take a direct (red) valley descent towards Königsleiten, which links up with the Zillertal Arena! Enjoy a toboggan descent or a snowshoe hike!

Facilities Hochkrimml
Free ski-bus service with the ski pistes. Hochkrimml also has a ski school. You will find a sports shop both on the Silberleiten as well as on the Filzsteinalm. The only supermarket in the area is in Königsleiten. 2 Piste restaurants.

Zillertal Arena skiing region
From Hochkrimml, you can take a direct (red) valley descent towards Königsleiten, which links the area up with the Zillertal Arena. Hochkrimml and Königsleiten together make up one of the most highly situated villages within the Zillertal Arena (1470 - 2302 m) - a guaranteed snow area. The area offers more than 51 modern ski-lifts and 143 km of pistes, of which 8% black, 62% red and 30%  blue. A total of 320 ha of snow slopes with guaranteed snow throughout the season!

The Zillertal Arena Ski pass
The Zillertal Arena Ski pass and the Zillertaler Super ski pass are valid in both the Zillertal Arena as well as in the Arena Wildkogel in Neukirchen am Großvenediger. A valid ski pass allows you to take the ski bus between Neukirchen, Wald, Krimml and Königsleiten free of charge.

Ski school
In the skiing area of Hochkrimml (Filzsteinalm and Duxeralm), Chalets Plus works with Ski school Krimml on the Filzsteinalm and Ski school Gerlosplatte on the Silberleiten. Luge tobogganing
The Zillertal Arena offers ample opportunities to those who enjoy luge tobogganing. There are a number of tobogganing routes that can be used both during the day and in the evening, in Wald, Königsleiten and Krimml, for example.  Hochkrimml has a toboggan run on the Filzsteinalm; it is lit daily until 21.30h. The toboggan run is 2 km long and starts at the Jugend Gäste Haus Gerlosplatte or opposite the ski school Krimml/Hochkrimml.

Cross-country skiing
Skiers can enjoy the approx. 9 km-long highly situated runs.

Snowboarders
You will find the Gerlosplatte, a small but lovely Snowpark with Funcross, directly under the Filzstein Bahn. Ideal for beginners, but also for children who want to improve their skills. In addition, the Zillertal also offers a Snowpark (near Gerlos) and Action Park (near Zell am Ziller) for the real thrill-seekers!

The ski bus
A valid ski pass allows you to use the ski bus that runs between Neukirchen, Wald, Krimml, Hochkrimml and Königsleiten, free of charge.

Krimmler Waterfalls
Besides winter sports, Hochkrimml is mainly known for the Krimmler waterfalls. Measuring a total of 380 metres, it is the highest waterfall in Europe. The waterfall is located near to the village of Krimml at approx. 9 minutes by car from Hochkrimml. Visit the romantic Krimmler Waterfall on foot or in a horse-drawn sleigh!

The Kristall (swimming) pool
Would you prefer to relax in the swimming pool? Then the Kristall (swimming) pool in Wald im Pinzgau (approx. 15 km.) is the place to be. This pool facility includes an indoor pool, an outdoor pool with sunbathing areas and deck chairs, a covered slide, extensive sauna facilities and wellness rooms that can be used at an additional charge. The swimming pool also has a bistro; Der Bürgerbaron. The Bürgerbaron can be accessed from both the swimming pool as well as outside. You can enjoy a cup of coffee or a snack here.
