Top 10 toboggan runs in Austria

An activity that is exceptionally fun during a holiday in Austria is tobogganing. There are toboggan runs in Austria that are also open in summer, but it remains primarily a winter activity. You can find a great toboggan run in almost every popular ski area. The runs differ in length, elevation drop and number of curves. Some are even illuminated in the evening, so you can continue riding after sunset. Every toboggan run in Austria is therefore a unique experience. We at ChaletsPlus have taken on the challenge of putting together a top 10 of the most fun toboggan runs in Austria.
What is tobogganing and how does it work?
Tobogganing is simply sliding down a specially prepared slope on a special type of sled, called a toboggan. You control the speed yourself by shifting your weight. Lean forward to go faster and lean back slightly to slow down. You do not need special experience or fitness to get started. A good dose of courage is enough for a fantastic tobogganing experience. Will you go full speed right away, or prefer to take it a bit slower at first? On some toboggan runs it is also possible to ride with two people. In that case, follow this rule: the stronger person should sit at the back.
