Ski Resort Closing Dates 2025/2026

The ski season kicked off again in early November 2025, with Kitzbühel & Kirchberg (KitzSki) traditionally being one of the first resorts to open its slopes to winter sports enthusiasts (as also highlighted in our opening blog). This year as well, you can still fully enjoy snow-covered slopes, Austrian specialties and sunny terrace moments in April. As long as you’re on time! Below you’ll find the expected closing dates for the 2025/2026 season:
The first ski resort closes on Sunday, 5 April, and the last one on Sunday, 3 May. This means there are still plenty of places to enjoy snowy slopes in April, along with Austrian treats such as a Weizenbier, Käsespätzle or Kaiserschmarrn, and soaking up the sun on a terrace. This year, in most resorts, you can even ski until Easter (5 & 6 April 2026). So don’t forget your sunglasses and sunscreen, skiing in April is definitely possible this year and promises the perfect mix of sun, snow and gezelligheid!
