Playing golf in Austria is definitely worth it!

Austria is of course known as a ski area, but did you know that it is also one of the leading countries for golf? The country has nearly 200 golf courses, many of which have a beautiful location, in the mountains or at the edge of beautiful rivers and lakes, for instance. Over the past ten years, golf has become one of the most popular sports in Austria.

From beginner to advanced

Thanks to Austria's diverse landscape, the country offers a wide variety of courses. There are several flat golf courses that are ideal for beginners, and hilly courses in wild, natural areas for advanced golfers. But mountainous areas, too, offer courses that are suitable for beginners, while virtually flat areas in Austria also offer tricky, hilly courses for advanced players. So there is something for everyone, wherever you go.

In addition enjoy the beautiful nature while playing golf.

Golfclub Mittersill-Stuhlfelden

Golfclub Mittersill-Stuhlfelden is one of the many golf courses in the country. The golf course, one of 14 in the Salzburgerland, is located near picturesque villages such as Bramberg am Wildkogel and Neukirchen am Grossvenediger, and it is justifiably known as one of the finest courses in Austria. With the mountains in the background, you play 18 holes on this mostly flat golf course whilst enjoying the natural landscape and the scenery around you. Once you have completed the course, you can sit back and relax and enjoy a snack and a drink on the terrace of the clubhouse. A visit to the Golfclub Mittersill-Stuhlfelden guarantees hours of fun and can easily be combined with a visit to Neukirchen am Grossvenediger, Bramberg am Wildkogel or any of the other villages in the area.

Golfclub Kitzbüheler Alpen Westendorf

Golfclub Kitzbüheler Alpen Westendorf is also a golf course worth a visit. Located south-west of the village of Westendorf, this six-kilometre course is a very popular golf course in the Salzburgerland. In addition to an 18-hole course, this golf course also has a driving range and chipping area where you can practice to your heart's content. The course is fully integrated into the landscape, creating a varied course with hills and obstacles such as water and forested areas. Once you have completed the course, the village of Westendorf offers plenty of restaurants and cafés with an abundance of opportunities to savour the rest of the day.
