Hochkrimml, Austria, (Filzsteinalm, Duxeralm and Silberleiten) is located on the Gerlos Pass, on the border of the Austrian states of Salzburg and Tyrol (Zillertal) at a distance of approx. 3 km from Köningsleiten and 8 km from Krimml. The winter sports area Hochkrimml-Gerlosplatte is located at an altitude of approx. 1700 m and consists of three communities, Filzsteinalm, Duxeralm and Silberleiten, and belongs to the municipality of Krimml. Silberleiten is the most western section of Hochkrimml. It is a very hospitable mountain village right in the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region. It is an ideal holiday resort with snow and sun from the start of December through to April. Hochkrimml (Gerlosplatte), the start of a great ski experience in the skiing world of the Zillertal Arena with infinite skiing opportunities.
In Hochkrimml (Filzsteinalm, Duxeralm and Silberleiten)
In addition to winter sports, Hochkrimml is particularly known for the Krimmler waterfalls. It is the highest waterfall in Europe measuring 380 metres in total. The waterfall is located near to the village of Krimml at approx. 9 minutes by car from Hochkrimml. Visit the romantic Krimmler Waterfall on foot or in a horse-drawn sleigh!
Hochkrimml
Hochkrimml is a peaceful small mountain village in the middle of a beautiful nature reserve and consists of a number of (new) chalets, a restaurant (with sandwich service), a pizzeria, a ski shop that also rents out skis and modern ski lifts. Hochkrimml can be easily accessed by car, there is a ski bus stop and from Hochkrimml you will have a beautiful view of Königsleiten. You can ski right up to your front door and the cross-country trail(or langlaufloipe) is at your door too! From Hochkrimml you can take the direct (red) valley descent towards Königsleiten that links the area to the Zillertal Arena! Enjoy a toboggan descent or a snowshoe hike. Hochkrimml is famous for its infinite skiing freedom.
The Kristallbad swimming pool
Does relaxing at the swimming pool sound good to you? The Kristallbad swimming pool in Wald im Pinzgau provides this option too. The swimming pool has an indoor pool, an outdoor pool with sunbathing areas and deck chairs, a covered slide, an extensive sauna, wellness rooms and fitness area that can be visited at an additional charge. The swimming pool also has a restaurant, “Kristallstüberl”.
The “stube” is attractively furnished and can be accessed both from the swimming pool and from outside. A good place to enjoy a cup of coffee, a snack or a simple meal.
Chalets with a dedicated cook
Those who wish to enjoy fully can reserve a cook through ChaletsPlus. Just imagine being surprised by a first rate breakfast in the morning, or having an après-ski drink waiting at your chalet after a day of skiing, and just after that, an excellent three-course meal. Zillertal Arena ski region
Silberleiten is the most western section of Hochkrimml and is located at an altitude of 1700 m right in the middle of the Plattenkogel slopes with a view of Königsleiten. The ski region is part of the largest skiing area of the Zillertal Arena and belongs, as does Königsleiten, to one of the highest villages within the Zillertal Arena (1,470 – 2,302 m) – an area where snow is assured during winter. The area has more than 51 modern ski lifts, 165 km of slopes of which 11 km black, 114 km red and 40 km blue.
175 ha of snow slopes. Snow is assured during the whole season!
The 200 km cross-country trail provides other options in addition to skiing.
Tobogganing
Those who enjoy tobogganing will find ample opportunity to do so at the Arena. There are various tobogganing tracks that can be used both during the day and in the evenings.
The ski bus
If you have a valid ski pass you can use the ski bus free of charge that runs between Neukirchen, Wald, Krimml, Hochkrimml and Königsleiten.
Langlaufing or cross-country skiing
Cross-country skiers can enjoy an approx. 9 km route.
